WhatsApp group rules

Our members have access to the local WhatsApp group for their area. These are unmoderated groups; members of these groups use them at their own discretion. Bristol Autism Support is not responsible for the content posted in these groups. The content posted is owned by the original poster.

Being part of this group requires mutual trust. What’s shared in the group must stay in the group.

Be kind and courteous
We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

No hate speech or bullying
Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

Don’t talk about professionals
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. However, what one person doesn’t like another may love, so it’s crucial to make your own decisions about a school, a paediatrician, service, etc. Also, remember that professionals are humans who make mistakes, too.

Don’t ask for or give medical advice
It’s OK to ask about others’ experiences of medications. We will ask members to PM you with their experiences. Advice about supplements, homeopathy, probiotics, etc, are not allowed in this group.

No promotions or spam
Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren’t allowed.

No pictures or videos of children
As admins cannot delete inappropriate pictures and any picture can be saved from this group and shared on, PLEASE do not share any pictures or videos of your child in the group.

Respect your child’s privacy and dignity
Do not share too much information about your child.
