BAS Support Blocks

Bristol Autism Support run special support blocks for specific topics.  Each session includes a presentation and time for discussion. No diagnosis is required to join these groups.

Support Blocks:

Please note places are limited and attendees are expected to attend all sessions. These groups are funded by a grant from NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB so are for parents and carers living in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset or BANES. No diagnosis is required to join these groups.

January / February 2024 Groups

6 Week – New to Autism for families of children aged 11-17 – Sundays Online 10am-12pm

A 6-week course and discussion group for parents/carers of children 11-17 who are new to autism, either awaiting an autism assessment or recently diagnosed.  The group held online using zoom starting on 7th January 2024. Click here for more information and to book.

6 Week – Supporting Autistic Girls – Fridays Online 10am-12pm

A 6-week course and discussion group designed to help you understand and support the autistic girl in your care. The group held online using zoom starting on 5th January 2024. Click here for more information and to book.

5 week Supporting Distress and Behaviours that Challenge – Wednesdays Online 10am-12noon

A 5-week course and discussion group for parents/carers of children that present with behaviours that parents and carers may find challenging. No diagnosis is required to join this group. The group will meet online starting on Wednesday 10th January. Click here for more information and to book.

One Day – Supporting Communication with Non Speaking Children – Tuesday 6th February in Knowle West 9.45am-2.30pm

A 1-day workshop for parents/carers of children that are non-speaking or have limited communication. No diagnosis is required to join this group. The group will meet in person at Knowle West Media Centre on Tuesday 6th February. Click here for more information and to book.

February / March 2024 Groups

6 Week – Sensory Processing Differences – Wednesday Evenings Online 7-8.30pm

A 6-week course and discussion group for parents/carers of children with sensory differences. The group will meet online starting on Wednesday 21st February. Click here for more information and to book.

3 Week – New to Autism for families of children under 11 -Mondays Online 10am-2.30pm

A 3-week course and discussion group for parents/carers of children aged below 11 who are new to autism, either awaiting an autism assessment or recently diagnosed.  The group held online using zoom starting on Monday 4th March. Click here for more information and to book.

Anxiety & Masking – Mondays, In Person – Knowle West 9.45am-12.15pm

A 6 week course and discussion group aimed at helping parents and carers support their autistic child with anxiety and masking. The group will meet in person at Knowle West Media Centre starting on Monday 19th February. Click here for more information and to book.
