A huge thank you goes out to the Piper Maddox team from LHi Bristol office who, despite incredibly wet and windy weather in September, donned their waterproofs and set out on a sponsored beach clean around part of the North Somerset coast. It was such a great idea, with double the positive impact for the local area: looking after the environment and simultaneously raising much-needed funds for Bristol Autism Support.
Covering 9 miles in total, they walked 6 miles from Sand Bay Beach in Kewstoke, all the way down to the bottom of Weston Super Mare Beach, and then back up to the top of Weston-super-Mare beach. This meant the team could cover Weston-super-Mare beach twice, which was much needed due to the volume of rubbish there. They collected 13 full bags of rubbish from the beach and walkway alongside the beach, mostly comprising of small plastics, cigarette ends, bottles and general rubbish that was being washed up with the tide.
We are really pleased to announce that the team have raised over £1000 for Bristol Autism Support this year and have a further office fundraiser planned in December. We hope to visit in the coming weeks and thank the team in person for everything they are doing in support of BAS !
