Bristol Autism Support are delighted to announce the appointment of Katie Hanchard-Goodwin as its Chief Executive Officer – a new role within the organisation.
Katie brings with her a wealth of experience in the VCSE sector, with over 10 years experience in leading charities. Previously, she headed the Hillfields Family and Community Trust and, before that, was the CEO of Bristol Playbus. Katie designed and executed Bristol’s first mobile Sensory Truck, taking sensory experiences to children and young people across the region.
We caught up with Katie on her first day in post, and she commented, “This is a very exciting time in BAS’s journey as they are poised on the brink of a period of growth. I am excited to join the amazing team and looking forward to seeing how we can further improve the experience for families of autistic children.”
Chair of Trustees, Jane Walton, said, “We are very pleased to welcome Katie to the BAS Team. This is an exciting time for the charity as we seek funding to expand our services to try and reach more families in the Bristol area and offer more support. Katie’s skills and previous experience are an ideal fit to guide us on this journey. She has certainly hit the ground running in her first few days!”
