I am thrilled to announce that after a busy period of recruitment we have nine new team members joining us here at Bristol Autism Support.
New Team Members
3 team members are joining us as part-time Wrap Around Coordinators. They will be providing 1-1 sessions for parents and carers of autistic people through the Autism Central Peer Education Programme.
Our new Wrap Around Coordinators are:
Saira Stringer – Saira has been a BAS volunteer for some time running our Easton coffee mornings and providing peer support. Saira has two children and is Bristol based. Saira started working in autism in a mainstream school as an SEN LSA before moving to a specialist school in the same role. More recently Saira has been working in family support and at Autism Independence. Contact Saira on Saira@Bristolautismsupport.org
Laura Shaw – Laura is based in North Somerset with her two children (one of which is autistic with ADHD). Laura is a licensed facilitator of the Parent Plus Special Educational Needs programme and currently works with North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together (NSPCWT). Vicky Cooksley – Vicky spent 16 years as a specialist teacher for students with additional needs and then went on to lecture at a college to help teach young people understand SEND. Vicky is a Certified Sleep Coach and you may recognise her from our Autism and Sleep sessions. Vicky is also Mum to two children and based in Devon. Find out more about Vicky at her website here. Jonny Gilder – Jonny joins us a our Social Media and Marketing Manager. Jonny runs Marketing With Jonny, a Social Media agency specialising in the sports industry that is focused on delivering end-to-end social media management with empathy, kindness and inclusivity. Laura McFadden – Laura is already a BAS volunteer that runs our weekly in person support group providing peer to peer support. Laura will now also be our Fundraising and Events Coordinator. Abby Francis – Abby joins us as Hub Coordinator for the Autism Central Peer Education Programme. Abby comes to us with experience in customer service and project management roles most recently in primary and secondary education settings. Contact Abby on Abby@bristolautismsupport.org
New Trustees
3 new Trustees are joining us – Adam Baker, Lucy Rowe and Glen Maxwell-Heron. Trustees are volunteers who take the important role of governing the charity. Adam also recently raised money for BAS running the Bristol 10k for us.
